From blind spots to clarity, new eSIM management experience

The problem: reclaiming control of our eSIM future

We were relying on a third-party eSIM platform that left us with significant blind spots. When issues arose, we had limited visibility into what was happening, and resolution times were slow. This created a competitive disadvantage and frustrated our customers.

eSIM technology represents a significant competitive advantage in the IoT space. After careful consideration, we made the strategic decision to build our own eSIM infrastructure. This would give us full control, better visibility, and the ability to innovate faster.

The challenge was significant: achieving GSMA certification as a small company (1oT) with a team of just 20 people. This was no small feat, but we were determined to succeed.

Guiding principle: admins are people too

When building complex infrastructure, it's easy to forget that the people using it are human. We designed the UI to be simple and usable, regardless of technical expertise. The interface should feel approachable, not intimidating.

This approach also opens up opportunities to license our infrastructure and UI to other telecoms, creating a new revenue stream while helping others in the industry.
